Hide the Kryptonite! Sexy 'Clark Kent' Anchormen Are Infiltrating TV News

Jake Myers READ TIME: 6 MIN.

They say it's good for your mental health to reduce your news intake, but some TV networks are not making it very easy. That's because there seems to be a new trend taking over: ridiculously hot news anchormen who all fit a certain prototype. Think "Clark Kent," but instead of working for The Daily Planet, they're hosting the second hour of "Good Morning America."

These tall, dark, and handsome speci-"men" of perfection are popping up on national news shows everywhere; sirens luring us into their depressing stories with perfectly sculpted jaws, jacked torsos, robust heads of dark black hair (sometimes with a pop of salt and pepper to give us that daddy flair), and striking eyes. It's actually almost comical, as if you're looking at sexy clones cut out of the same cookie-cutter molds. But hey, we're not complaining.

Don't get us wrong, serving up sex to deliver the news isn't exactly a cutting-edge strategy. A certain "unnamed cable news network" is famous for hiring ridiculously hot women to deliver the headlines. So why shouldn't other news channels get in on the fun...only this time giving the gays and gals something to gawk at? After all, at the end of the day, the news isn't about the news, it's about ratings and even better, we've learned several of these Headline Hunks are gay, which makes our fantasy that much closer to reality.

Whether you're listening to anything they're actually reporting on or not, the news these days is as hot as the California wildfires. EDGE is here to show you exactly what we mean, with a roundup of our favorite sexy newscasters.

Whit Johnson

Stephen Whitney "Whit" Johnson, 41, is an American journalist and co-anchor of the weekend editions of "Good Morning America," and the anchor of the Saturday edition of "ABC World News Tonight" (he's also a fill-in and substitute anchor for both shows during prime time). We've often wondered how every one of his hairs stays meticulously in place. Then again, does the "how" really matter?

Jason Hackett

Local "Sunrise" newscaster Jason Hackett just came out on a live broadcast this month, giving us all the feels! Check out his heartfelt message about living authentically, and the warm response of his colleagues.

"Keep going. You're going to make it." Amen...

Gio Benitez

Giovani "Gio" Benitez, 38, is an American broadcast journalist and correspondent for ABC News, who appears on "Good Morning America," "World News Tonight", "20/20", and "Nightline." Besides being drop dead gorgeous, he's won three television news Emmy awards. The best part, he plays for our team! It's kind of a big deal that an out correspondent was given a weekend slot, and we love watching him while nestling under the covers on a Saturday.

Boris Sanchez

Cuban-born hunk Boris Sanchez recently moved from hosting the CNN weekend news shows to the coveted midday slot during the week. The reason may be his poised and confident manner, as well as his striking Daddy looks. And, Sanchez told Forbes, his commitment to news is personal. "When my family came to the United States, and landed in Miami, the day that I turned three, that idea that democracy is something worth fighting for that it is something you must protect, that it is worthy of sacrifice, has always stuck with me. My mother wanted to be a journalist when she was growing up, she loved the writing." And she passed that love on to her son. "I love writing, I love telling stories, I love going out and talking to interesting people and experiencing everything that the world has to offer."
