Alexander Skarsgård to Star in Queer Romance with Harry Melling

Alexander Skarsgård gave off some kinky vibes in last year's Brandon Cronenberg-directed "Infinity Pool," but what if he took some of that wild erotic energy to a queer movie? We're set to find out as Skarsgård plays a biker dom named Ray in the upcoming "Pillion."
Harry Melling will play the submissive Colin in the Harry Lighton-directed feature, which is slated to premiere at Cannes next year.
"Ray uproots Colin from his dreary suburban life, introducing him to a community of kinky, queer bikers and taking all sorts of virginities along the way," Variety explained in a writeup of the movie, which is set to begin production this summer.
"But as Colin steps deeper into Ray's world of rules and mysteries, he begins to question whether the life of a 24/7 submissive is for him."
All of which goes to show the importance of having a predetermined safe word.
The film has an impressive pedigree. "The screenplay was developed with BBC Film and is based on Adam Mars-Jones' 'Box Hill,'" Variety noted, "which was the 2019 Fitzcarraldo Editions Novel Prize winner."
Moreover, while this is Lighton's feature debut, his "short 'Wren Boys' was nominated for best British short at the 2018 BAFTAs, was nominated for a BIFA, and had its U.S. premiere at the Sundance Film Festival," the entertainment news outlet detailed.
One person who can't say he doesn't know what he's getting into is Skarsgård, who is serving as an executive producer on the film.
