The Things that 'Alligator-a-Phobia in 3D''s Katherine Perry Can't Perform Without

Christopher Ehlers READ TIME: 8 MIN.

In "Alligator-a-Phobia in 3D" – a play with music by Jay Eddy – Katherine Perry stars as Sweetness, one half of a happy couple that moves to Swampland. Trouble arises when their wife becomes obsessed with the local alligators. Touted as "one part door farce, one part monster movie," "Alligator-a-Phobia in 3D" promises to be one hell of an absurd horror-comedy.

Perry hails from Philadelphia where they work as an actor, improviser, teaching artist, and inclusion strategist. Here are the things they can't perform without.

Herbivore Phoenix Rosehip Anti-Aging Facial Oil

Herbivore Phoenix Rosehip Anti-Aging Facial Oil

"I use this at the top and tail of my day to keep my skin hydrated. Being in and out of rehearsal spaces and theatres can take a toll on the skin, especially with fluctuating temperatures from this transition into spring, so anything I can do to help combat dryness and dullness is a win." $88, Herbivore Botanicals.

Tinted Sunscreen

"Both of these give a light glow, protect my skin from sun exposure walking to and from the theatre, and serve as a light primer. The character I play in the show, Sweetness, is a wildlife photographer, so getting the look of a sun-kissed complexion without any of the damage helps add to the world of the play."

Liquid IV Hydration Multiplier

Liquid IV Hydration Multiplier

"This stuff has saved me on more than one occasion. In a play like 'Alligator-a-Phobia in 3D,' once you step on stage it's go, go, go, until the final chorus is sung, which means stealing sips of water offstage is a rare treat. Popping a packet into a bottle of water helps give me an electrolyte boost or fight fatigue from a long day in tech rehearsals. I personally love the Golden Cherry flavor and always have a few packets with me wherever I go." $24.99, Liquid IV.

Native Deodorant

Native Deodorant

" 'Alligator-a-Phobia in 3D' is a multi-door farce, a cartoon extravaganza, an absolute blast – and that means we get sweaty – very sweaty. I love Native deodorant for the essential oil-filled scents (currently using Palm Leaf & Agave, and keeping a stick of Citrus & Herbal Musk in my dressing room)." $13, Native.

Polly-O String Cheese

Polly-O String Cheese

"A favorite snack of my childhood continues holding strong. Great for a quick protein pick me up on the go. I'm team pull, not bite." $7.98, Walmart.

"Alligator-a-Phobia in 3D" runs through April 16 at Boston Playwrights' Theatre, 949 Commonwealth Ave. Tickets available here.
