Sex Toy Study Shows America's Kinkiest Zip Codes

When it comes to sex, cities might be getting too much of the credit! Sure, it's great to swipe on someone zero feet away, or imagine that life in New York or LA is nothing but non-committal hook-ups and endless orgasms. It turns out that's not always the case.

As a company that ships out over a million dildos, Ben Wa balls, lube, wands, harnesses, handcuffs, vibrating eggs, sex dolls and other toys each year, we're in a unique position to gauge America's secret desires. So in preparation for the holiday season, we decided to take a look at which zip codes we ship the most products to -- and which products they order the most of.

When we looked at the results we were shocked at what we found. When it comes to sex toys, the suburbs are where it's at.

While there are a few exceptions, it turns out that the zip codes that ordered the most sex toys weren't located in cities at all. Sure, New York's Chelsea neighborhood gets its fair share of action, as does Washington, LA and San Francisco. But while cities have retail outlets geared to sex, suburbs usually don't -- that's where we come in.

Many of our most-shipped to destinations -- the zip codes that ordered the largest and greatest variety of products -- were often on the outskirts of town, in quiet little hamlets with cookie cutter houses and picket fences. Bedroom communities, if you will, not only order the most sex toys per capita, they also order the most sex toys.

Below, America's ten sexiest suburbs and the most popular sex toy for each.

1. South Miami Beach, FL (33139)

Suburb of: Miami

Top Seller: Ball Stretcher

Maybe it's no surprise that South Beach would top the list -- the one-time home of Gianni Versace isn't exactly known for restraint. That said, maybe it should be known for ...restraints. While ball stretchers topped the list of the products we shipped most frequently, the boxes going to South Beach are full of bondage gear and toys for anal play.

2. Cedar Park, TX (78613)

Suburb of: Austin

The northern suburbs of Austin were a recurring theme on our list of top zip codes -- nearby Pluggerville, with it's love of cock rings, was only a few spots down on our most shipped to zips. Texas is one of our best-selling regions overall -- just don't tell sex toy foe Ted Cruz!

The people of Katy, TX order almost as many sex toys as the residents of a similarly sized zip code in Washington DC. What gives? Well, for one, the suburbs don't have as many adult shops as a central city district, so there's a reliance on shipping. But for most working couples, it's hard to afford the square-footage needed for a dungeon in a city center. But on the outskirts of town, away from prying neighbors... ah, paradise.

6. Oak Harbor, WA (98277)

Suburb of: Seattle

Located on Whidbey Island, Oak Harbor is known as a relative bastion of conservatism in the Seattle area, thanks to its Naval Base. Maybe that's why this suburb seems unusually taken with a different kind of discipline.
