Mixalot Modernizes Speed Dating for Queer Women

On Thursday, August 31, Mixalot, an event software company, and Three Day Rule have partnered with Match.com to host Quick Dates: Femmes for Femmes at Cellar 43 in Los Angeles. Registration begins at 6:30 p.m. and speed dating starts at 7 p.m.

Mixalot modernizes speed dating in the queer community by providing smartphone and computer-based software that allows participants to match and mingle based on preference. By providing a structured social event, Mixalot allows participants to meet a variety of people they might not interact with at a bar or nightclub.

"The software helps people meet the people in the room they want to meet based on age, sexual preference, or any other criteria," said Rachel Weinstein, founder of Mixalot. "We have run a lot of events for the LGBT community and are looking forward to growing our audience nationally."

Mixalot recently launched a new website, QueerSpeedDating.com, that will provide a list of upcoming LGBT events powered by the software.

"JQ International has used Mixalot's software to run several events to help our Jewish LGBTQ community find love and friendship," said Anna Goodman, Program Director at JQ International. Registration begins at 6:30 p.m. and speed dating starts promptly at 7 p.m. It's always better to arrive on time to ensure the maximum number of dates, but late comers can be accomodated easily. Our schedule is:

6:30p.m.-7p.m. - Registration
7:00p.m.-7:45p.m. - Speed dating, round 1
7:45p.m.-8:15p.m. - Three Day Rule LGBTQ+ matchmaker speaking, with Q&A
8:15p.m.-9:00p.m. - Speed dating, round 2
9:00p.m. onward - Mingling

Tickets cost $25 in advance, $30 the last three days and $35 at the door.
