Veteran journalist Michelangelo Signorile has uncovered that a gay man, working as senior executive producer of "Tucker Carlson Tonight," is responsible for the Fox News host's attacks on the LGBTQ community.

As reported by Huffpost, Signorile reportedly found that Justin Wells, who has been married to a man for years, leads the team behind the show across multiple platforms.

A mere days after a gunman killed five people at a gay nightclub in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Carlson invited Jaimee Michell as a guest from a hate group called "Gays Against Groomers."

Michell proceeded to say on-air that the attack "expected and predictable" and suggested that violence against LGBTQ people will continue "until we end this evil agenda" of gender-affirming care.

On another day, Carlson proceeded to attack Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg for speaking out about the shooting in Colorado Springs and claimed he "lied" about his sexuality because he did not come out publicly earlier.

In short, Carlson's show is very heavy handed with its anti-LGBTQ rhetoric and "It's beyond horrific to think a gay man has helped to shape and widely disseminate a message of hate against LGBTQ people," wrote Signorile on his Substack.

Signorile is a Sirius XM host, former editor-at-large of HuffPost Gay Voices and inductee into the Association of LGBTQ Journalists Hall of Fame. About Wells being at the helm of "Tucker Carlson Tonight," Signorile said the situation isn't about a "closet case" trying to hide who he is by spreading hate.

"And thus, this story is not an outing, which involves exposing someone who covers up their sexual orientation while publicly presenting as heterosexual — though it certainly may be a startling revelation to a great many," he said. "It is, rather, about connecting the dots regarding a reality that seems to have been hiding in plain sight."

No word yet on Wells's thoughts on his dynamic as the leader of such an anti-LGBTQ show. Read Signorile's complete Substack on the matter here.
