One of the most intriguing art installations in America is Prada Marfa, a recreation of a Prada storefront that sits in the tiny Texas town (population of 134 according to the 2010 census) of Valentine.

Named for the nearby town of Marfa, which has become a tourist destination and a major center for minimalist art, the permanent installation was built in 2005 with the intention that the building would never be repaired, but would degrade with the natural surroundings. But on the day of its opening, the structure was vandalized, along with exhibit items, including those donated by from the fall/winter 2005 collection, with graffiti strewn on its walls ("Dumb" and "Dum Dum"). It was immediately repaired.

Bringing attention to the facility in his unassuming (if provocative) way is Olympian Gus Kenworthy, who posted a New Year's greeting of himself hitchhiking outside of it. "Verified Happy New Year from your favorite roadside attraction!" he wrote in the caption. In the pic, he's seen holding a cowboy hat over his privates.

Kenworthy made headlines yesterday when he applauded more LGBTQ+ representation at the upcoming Olympic Games in Beijing. In an interview with People, Kenworthy said, it is "just a really exciting thing for the sports world, and also for the queer community and for kids in sports watching."

He continued: "In 2018, Adam Rippon and I were the first two openly gay men to compete for the U.S. in the Winter Olympics, which is crazy because it doesn't seem like that long ago. But no one had competed out at a Winter Olympics from the U.S., and the U.S. sends so many athletes. So that was kind of shocking to me."

Kenworthy continues to be a force on Instagram with over a million followers. A quick scroll through his profile and you'll see everything from cute pics of him and his dog Birdie, to ski videos, to, yes, the occasional thirst trap — like the aforementioned shot of Kenworthy standing naked on the side of the road.

We certainly hope some kind soul was generous enough to give him a ride.
