The stars of MTV's new reality series "The Real Friends of WeHo" isn't just another reality show about frenemies brought together over a love of attention and money, claims the cast. They bring something more to reality TV that Bravo's "Real Housewives" doesn't. What exactly that is remains to be seen.

As reported by Daily Mail, gay "friends" Brad Goreski, Todrick Hall, Curtis Hamilton, Dorión Renaud, Jaymes Vaughan and Joey Zauzig have dissed comparisons to the "Real Housewives."

Jaymes, husband to Jonathan Bennett," told Daily Mail that he "wouldn't have signed up if that was meant to be like Real Housewives." He added, "This wasn't something that came about because we wanted to be reality stars."

He explained, "I think what is really special about our show is that if there is a conflict, there is also a resolution. You get to see things come back to a place of everyone rooting for each other and having each other's back."

And that's why comparisons to the "Real Housewives" aren't fair, he said. "We are in a place of having each other's back rather than tearing each other down."

In another take, celebrity stylist Goreski teased that he is "fine being a housewife."

"I'm kidding," he added. "With these comparisons, I think we're just seeing the landscape of how the internet is."

Responding to the negative response over the show's trailer, where Todrick Hall called for the LGBTQ+ community to be more supportive, Goreski said: "There's going to be people that love something, people that hate something and if you still feel that way after you watch the series then that's your opinion. I hope that this finds an audience where our stories help make them feel more connected or helps to educate them."
