'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' Star Terry Crews Says Male 'High Level Hollywood Exec' Groped Him

Wednesday Oct 11, 2017

In the wake of the Harvey Weinstein scandal, actor Terry Crews, who stars on the Fox comedy "Brooklyn Nine-Nine," took to social media Tuesday to recount his own experience with sexual assault in Hollywood.

In a series of tweets, Crews, 49, explained he wanted his fans to know that Weinstein "is not the only perpetrator."

"This whole thing with Harvey Weinstein is giving me PTSD. Why? Because this kind of thing happened to ME...," he wrote. "My wife n I were at a Hollywood function last year, and a high-level Hollywood executive came over 2 me and groped my privates."

"Jumping back I said What are you doing?! My wife saw everything n we looked at him like he was crazy. He just grinned like a jerk," Crews added, tweeting that he didn't "kick his ass" because of how the media would spin the story.

"'240 lbs. Black Man stomps out Hollywood Honcho' would be the headline the next day," he wrote.

He said he spoke with other people who worked with the unnamed exec and that the following day, he apologized to Crews. But it was "never really explained why he did what he did," the actor added.

"I let it go. And I understand why many women who this happens to let it go," he wrote. "Who's going 2 believe you? (few) What r the repercussions?(many) Do u want 2 work again? (Yes) R you prepared 2b ostracized?(No)."

Crews concluded:

"I understand and empathize with those who have remained silent. But Harvey Weinstein is not the only perpetrator. Hollywood is not the only business where this happens, and to the casualties of this behavior -- you are not alone. Hopefully, me coming forward with my story will deter a predator and encourage someone who feels hopeless."

Crews made headlines last year when he spoke out about being addicted to porn in a series of confessional videos.
